There are a couple ways that this can happen:
The most likely explanation is that your water company deactivated your old EyeOnWater account when you moved but left your email attached to the meter’s leak alert.
Another possible cause is that leak alerts are linked to water meters not locations. That means that when a meter gets moved from one place to another, its leak alert moves with it unless your water company removed your email from the alert.
In either case, please contact your water company directly and ask them to remove your email (and text message number if necessary) from the leak alert for the meter number displayed in the alert’s subject line.
